Annual Awards

ISM—Western Washington honors members and students who have contributed to the advancement of the supply chain profession through the organization.


R. Jerry Baker Award

Awarded to the member who has done the most to promote the supply chain profession.

Jerry’s commitment to the supply management profession was deeply intertwined with ISM. He served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Association of Purchasing Management (now known as ISM) for 18 years, from 1979 until his retirement in 1998. During this time, Jerry founded the Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies (CAPS) in 1986 and served on the Board of Trustees from 1986 to 1997. In 1998, Jerry was awarded ISM’s prestigious J. Shipman Gold Medal Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the organization.

Jerry was highly involved with ISM—WW. He served as President of the ISM—Western Washington affiliate for 1978-79.  

After retiring as Chief Operating Officer of the National Association of Purchasing Management (ISM), Jerry became the Program Director of the Supply Chain Management program at Shoreline College. As a much-beloved professor, Jerry had the unanimous respect and admiration of his students. Through the Shoreline program, Jerry continued to guide the next generation of supply management professionals.


Larry Crozier Award

Awarded to the member who exemplifies a commitment to the education of supply chain professionals.   

Larry worked tirelessly teaching, conducting seminars, and participating in panel discussions. He had a true love of sharing knowledge. He was president of ISM—WW from 1979-1980 and was an instructor at Shoreline Community College. 


President's Award

Awarded to the member or members who have gone above and beyond to support ISM—Western Washington. 


Scholarships

Awarded to students who promote the supply chain profession on their campus or through the ISM organization.
